The life force

Recently I heard a discourse about how the human body is collected over a lifetime. The food and water and other things that we consume becomes our body. The body is the house where our soul lives. Hinduism acknowledges that the body is important and a lot of spiritual endeavors involves physical activity. In Christianity on the other hand the soul is everything. The general idea is that the soul does not grow or is impacted in any way, except, perhaps by moral sins. I have come to conclude that what we consume every day adds to our life force. We can live only by killing other beings. Our energy to live is derived from the energy of other living things that we kill. In some sense, we add to our souls, other souls that we consume. I think a serious scientific study of the life force is in order.
